Keeping Busy During Corona

Since the Corona Virus hit our shores early March I’ve been one of many without work. The community market I organise monthly has been put on hold until further notice. I’m fortunate (as I hope others have been) to receive the “job keeper” payment so I can stay at home, be safe, live simply and pay my bills. I give time to my job from home but mostly I’ve been happily busy making my little cottage more comfortable, functionable and sustainable.

Adhering to isolation restrictions and washing hands, I refuse to get caught up in the fear. The nightly news is depressing and all other news has dropped off the planet. What happened about the fires and floods, earthquakes, famines, wars?

Australia is the best place to be in normal circumstances let alone during a deadly world virus. Where I live is particulary beautiful, green, clean and isolated from the masses. I couldn’t think of anywhere else I would rather be and feeling blessed. My heart goes out to people overseas, in cities, apartments, brick and mortar, people still struggling from the fires.

I guess more than ever I’ve been living in my now and locally and I like it. Pottering around my home and garden, jumping in the ocean and sharing with neighbours gives me great delight.

The sea plays a large part in my life. It’s only a short walk away, so I dive in the ocean most mornings. The water is getting colder and the air is certainly cooler so I don’t hesitate and go straight in, diving under a few waves. Amazingly clean and super uplifting, diving under waves degrounds me. It allows a free flow of ocean micronutrients and energy to sweep over my body. I’m instantly invigorated. Exiting the sea I quickly dry and rug up, cause it’s cold. I breathe slowly and deeply, circling my arms high and wide. Followed by a few neck, arm and leg stretches, I finish off with a 10-15 minute meditation and further observation and appreciation of my beautiful surroundings. Crystal blue water, surfers, dolphins, happy people, dogs, shells, far horizons and distant shores.

I love the sea. I do miss op shopping. 🙂

Have a good one. Keep smiling and enjoying
